Movie Review: We Own The Night (2007)

Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Walhlberg, Robert Duvall
Director: James Gray
Genre: Drama
Rated: R

Two brothers played by Marky Mark Wahlberg (Joe) and Joaquin Phoenix (Bobby) find themselves on opposite ends of the spectrum. Joe has followed his father, played by Robert Duvall, by being a cop for the New York Police Department. Bobby, on the other hand, manages a night club and deals with some violent people. The three men can never seem to all coexist together until a Russian mob bad dude is out to get them.

We Own The Night makes you feel the tension as it builds as the movie flows along its path. There is a great car chase scene that is filmed extremely well and is unlike any other. However, there may be moments when you feel unfulfilled where some scenes don't show off the actors' skills. Overall I think it is an enjoyable movie due to the actors and the director. Any fan of the three actors has to see this one.

"Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six."
